I am interested to know what happens if you recieve an item that you do not feel is as it was desbribed in a listing... If you open a dispute/claim though PayPal, do they just look at the listing or will they take into consideration any messages/questions that have been exchanged between buyer and seller before the end of the auction?
This my first time i have bought something on ebay.I purchased a treadmill, the item was in my local area.I arrived to pick up item and make payment. When getting a decription from the buyer, the item would not work.Seller rang me today saying that it will be a week before it can be fixed.I have therefore changed my mind and dont want the item any longer. Please advise what i can do.Thanks.
just want to know if u put a 99c on a bid how do we know ,that the seller hasnt got two computers and bidding against u to get more for the item ,or if they have a friend bidding for them,so if they dnt get their minimum for what they want for it ,either they buy it or their friend does then they get the item back
Hi there - I sold an item at auction 10 days ago and the buyer has not contacted me or returned any of my numerous emails requesting payment - the item was for pick up and they have not contacted me at all regarding pick up or payment. I would like to offer the item as a second chance offer to other bidders. Do I need to cancel the initial transaction (if so, how do I do this) or can I just immediately offer it to someone else? What are my obligations to the original auction winner? Thanks
Hi i won some baby clothes on the weekend and i went to pay for them and the sellers bank account details didnt come up so i requested the details from the seller. I received an e-mail saying that she could send the items because she has been away for 2 weeks and someone else was looking after her things on e-bay. Where do i stand on this? and can she do this? I spoke to an e-bay consultant over live chat and she said that she couldn't do this and gave me advice on contacting her to get her bank account details but i haven't heard from the seller. What is my next course of action. Thanks
I have purchased 3 items from the same seller - the 3rd I have yet to receive - all on a buy it now - I paid by bank transfer - the first item turned out to be a cheap, plated "bikies ring" I wouldn't even say silver-plated - described in the listing as "silver" & reported in emails prior to being sold to have been bought in an antique shop 20 yrs ago.The second item - a box described as only having one repairable fault- is literally falling apart - & again poorly described to the actual condition - I have contacted the seller several times - who reports "caveat emptor" & that the resolution procedure "should be fun" - as bank payment was made - what leverage is there if I am successful in my written claim - from the resolution to get this seller to refund my money - as he clearly has absolutely no intention - very stressed & disappointed - Anne
My partner was using my ebay account to search for an item. He placed a bid and won, without looking closely at the sellers details (He hasn't used ebay before). I have taken a closer look at the seller, and believe it may be fraudulant, as the seller has no prior reputation, was selling 5 identical items (Nintendo Wii), and since the sale ended, has no further items on offer. We have noticed these 5 identical items have now been relisted under another seller's id. Identical descriptions, photos, etc. However, this new seller is also new (no history). All very suspicious. Also, in the item's summary it says the condition is 'new', yet further along says it is used and 'as is'. Contradictory. And the seller is in China, and does not offer registered mail. What should I do? My initial reaction is not to follow through with the purchase. However, I have requested the seller's contact info so I can make further enquiries. I believe if the seller doesn't respond, I have a legitimate excuse not to pay. Is this right?

Hi won an item and when the auction ended i was unexpectly in hospital , the seller opened a non paying bidder dispute and when i recieved the email they told me i had till th 26th of oct to make payment, i paid it on the 21st of oct when i didnt recieve the item ia emailed the seller and they told me they had cancelled the item and would refund my money which they have not and they have resold the item where do i stand ?
EBay recommend we start at 99c. If I receive only one bid of 99c and its the winning bid, and I receive an offer from someone else for a lot more can I accept the better offer. To offer no more than the starting bid I feel is wrong, this type of thing would not happen at professional auctions, its wrong.Ian
after studying a sellers item photos closely, i have found that the photos have been doctored. Are sellers allowed to do this? They haven't altered the product itself, but i feel the altered environment gives a false impression of the product.
I have just encountered my first bidder who I wish to block. They did not pay the full amount for my item and I sent emails asking them to pay in full. Funnily enough they did not receive any of my emails even though they are recorded in my log. A week later they sent an email saying they were going to report me to ebay because I had not posted their item. I explained to them that they had not paid in full and they just became abusive towards me. I issued a refund to them and then told them that I was going to cancel the transaction due to it becoming pear shaped and no positive outcome could eventuate. I tried to cancel the transaction and they have just rejected the cancellation and are still sending emails (outside of ebay now) playing the blame game. I have not been unprofessional in any way and would like to cancel the transaction and block this person from bidding on my items again. Firstly, how can I cancel the transaction without the permission of the winning bidder and secondly, when I block them do they receive any notification that I have done so? Thankyou very much for any help that you can give.
hi i won the item and ebay informed me congrates on winning bid ,then i contacted the seller,as it was a pickup only for a time and adress for pickup.i recieved a reply back saying it had a reserve on it and could not sell for that price,he also said it had buy now price which it did not state on the page, then i got a email from ebay asking if i wanted to cancel the purchase, the seller insists it is a mistake by ebay, what is my recourse now?can i insist on the sale ?i would like a answer,as i would feel guilty about insisting on the sale if it is no fault of seller, also should not the seller checked his own add for being correct? mulga
